What makes Pathways unique?
Pathways is a state-funded charter school housed on a state college campus. Pathways offers small class sizes (approximately 25 students per instructor) and flexible scheduling to meet students' individual needs and circumstances, an extensive student support system which includes one-on-one case management, individualized assessment and progress monitoring, mentoring, and tutoring services. Pathways also offers two high school graduation options for students, both of which include career training at no cost to the student.
Where is the school located?
All classes are located on the Downtown Campus of Florida State College at Jacksonville. Click here for a map and directions.
What are the diploma options for a Pathways student?
Pathways students have two diploma options: the Credit Recovery Option or the Performance-Based Diploma Option (high school equivalency).
What classes and career training programs are available for Pathways students?
Pathways offers the standard high school curriculum (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies) in addition to career and academic courses. Click here for more information about out programs.
Who may apply to Pathways Academy?
Students ages 16-20 who no longer attend a Duval County School may apply to the Pathways Academy and out-of-district residents who have obtained a waiver from the superintendent of their home district to attend Pathways Academy. Click here for more information about eligibility.
Is school bus transportation available to Pathways students?
No. However, students are provided JTA bus passes/vouchers.
Is lunch available at the school?
Yes. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch will continue to receive services. Available to students who do not have the option to bring a lunch or purchase a school lunch for $3.50.
